Domain
Welcome to Simply Charmed, my corner of the web. While it’s not too obvious at the moment, I plan on turning this site into a tech related / product review site. Of course it will still function as a personal site, and blog.
My wonderful husband purchased SC as a birthday gift. In August I’ll be renewing the domain again. Hopefully by them the domain will be much more filled out, and worthy of your time.
As my tag line states, this site is mainly here to kill time. It’s a way for me to spend my time online, and giving me something to do. Instead of putting the domain, and you through countless filler pages I’ve been taking the past few months to learn, and streamline things as much as I can.
I’m quite on the fence about a few aspects of the designing world that I see around me. While I want my site to be liked and popular, but I’d hate to put myself or the domain under any kind of major scrutiny. I enjoy having a site. It constantly presents me with new things to learn and try.
I’ve ran several websites before in the past, but that was before WordPress, and the current validation/accessibility trends. Back when we thought it was perfectly acceptable to use a copyrighted image as long as we gave a link to where the picture was found.
It always seems like I’m one step behind everyone else. I do try to catch up as quietly and as graciously as I can. I have extremely high hopes for SC, and appreciate any input, good or bad.
Technical
Simply Charmed was registered and hosted on August 20th, ‘07 with Rocket City Hosting. Greg with RCH, is a fellow coworker of mine. He provides excellent service, and I love that he is local.
The name derives from my favorite TV show “Charmed”. It also comes from a personal statement about my life with my husband, and how simple, and wonderful it is. The name personifies many things about myself. My love of magic, and love of keeping this as casual and simplistic as possible.
This site is validated XHTML 1.0 Strict, CSS level 2.1. I am relatively new to XHTML, and I am learning as fast as I can. My next goal is to work on learning more about the PHP aspect of WordPress. I’m on extremely shaky ground, but it’s getting better.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium as my operating system, with a resolution of 1280×800. I surf using Firefox, and that is what I mainly code for. For information on my Sony Vaio click here.
I have access to many different browsers and operating systems because of work. I test my site on IE (Vista and XP), Firefox (Vista, XP, MAC, and Linux), Opera (Vista and XP), and Safari (MAC).
Personal Note
Chances are this domain will fly under the radar for as long as it stays open. If you do stumble upon the site I do hope you enjoy yourself. Things are constantly changing around here. It often seems that I take one step forward, and two steps back. Please visit back often to see what changes have been made.
