Turkey & Novels

Well it’s November already, and for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, things are getting colder. It’s getting closer to the end of the year. I know many of us are looking forward to Thanksgiving. I know I am. We all know it as the one time a year that we can stuff our face, and nobody says anything. I know my sister is just itching for deep fried Turkey (it’s kind of a southern thing.)
While I know many of you visitors don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, in the Internet world November signifies another important event. That’s right boys and girls NaNoWriMo is back. I want to wish everyone out there participating good luck, and stick with it.
I also want to take this opportunity to plug a wonderful friend Todd who is participating this year. Todd and I have been friends for about 6 or 7 years. He’s a wonderful man, and a very cherished friend. Please visit his site, and wish him luck as well. So again, good luck to him, and everyone else that is participating.
So who else out there is participating. If you aren’t what are your thoughts on those that are?

My friend and I may be doing some sort of collaboration (since neither of us managed to finish last year)… and if not, I might be doing it alone. The only thing is, I run out of inspiration fast. And unlike energy, which I can simply drink coffee or something for, I can never ‘regain’ my inspiration in time to finish stories
So. I’ll try though.
are you doing it?
and happy thanksgiving to those who celebrate

@Reply - I just don’t have the inspiration to begin with to start something like that. I can barely stay focused on getting new content for the domain. If I did that I’d probably neglect the site the entire month. If I had access to the Internet every day I’d participate in NaNoBloMo.

I can’t believe it’s freaking november already. It honestly feels like 2008 has been the fastest passing year to date. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving! It’s the only time of year I eat turkey!
@Reply - It’s pretty crazy. It feels like every year is faster than the last. I guess its the downside of getting older. I’m not much of a turkey person… I LOVE honey baked ham.
I can never do NaNoWriMo - November’s just always a bad time for me. Exams, holidays, work…it’s non-stop. I am however, contemplating NaNoBloMo, but as I blog every day anyway, it’s not much of a stretch!
@Reply - It seems like it’d be better to hold both of them on a Month that’s not so hectic. Kids in school (HS & College) are wrapping up their end of terms. There’s always that scramble to get everything completed, and throw the Holidays on top and you’ve got a fuckered of a month. I’d probably do NaNoBloMo if I had internet access at home. *sigh* Maybe next year.
I hope your Thanksgiving is great! We’ve already had ours here in Canada. I had just enough turkey sandwiches to last me till christmas.
I’ve never tried NaNoBloMo…it sounds familiar but I don’t know if I ever really looked into it. It sounds like it would be fun! Very challenging, and knowing me I’d probably fail miserably, but fun. I think I’m going to check it out
I love writing and haven’t been doing any really for the last few years.
@Reply - We’ve got a few more weeks before Thanksgiving, and I prefer Ham over Turkey, but it’s gonna be pretty fun. I’m working the first part of the day and then going to my mom’s.
NaNoBloMo is pretty fun, but I just don’t have the time or dedication to do it. Since I don’t have an internet connection at home I’d have to create additional posts to be put on timer and that’s even more work than I really want to do!
