Day With Mom

One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my mom. Over the years we’ve developed a wonderful friendship, one that I wouldn’t give up for anything. Well yesterday she sent me a text around 4 am telling me to call when I was up. I happened to still be up so I called her back. I ended up driving to her house around 4:30 in the morning to hang out for the day. One of the best things about going over to my mom’s is she’s always got something for me.
Since I’m working 3rd shift I was in dire need of some warm fuzzies as I like to call them. I also decided that I needed *gasp* a bigger purse. I’ve recently started carrying one around. I’ve realized that as a female it’s practically a necessity to have a purse. *bangs head against desk* I’m turning into a girl *ack*.
So my mom took me shopping and I got some pretty cute stuff. The black bag with the peace sign is my new purse. It’s really simple, just one big whole. No compartments, just a pocket on the inside for the small stuff.
The pink bag says Bridesmaid on it. My mom got it for me for my sister’s wedding. She says it’ for like keeping my shoes and my bra, and anything else together on the day of so I won’t lose anything.
I also got a really soft and warm blue scarf; two pairs of fuzzy gloves that are just amazingly warm. Mom also picked out a really cute coffee mug, on one side it says, “Life Is Good”, and on the other, “Do what you like. Like what you do.” Which totally epitomizes what my new shift is about.
She also sent me home with a pair of shoes, some long sleeve shirts, a hoodie and some fuzzy socks (which who doesn’t love fuzzy socks.) She also sent home some food home with me. I love shopping and Rent’s Grocery store.

I’m so excited to hear you got a mug from JB Goods. I absolutely love all their products– I would really like to get a few of their shirts and purses because their beliefs are like that of my own. They look at life the same way I do.
I’m not sure if you have seen any more of their products before, but if not you should really take a look at their website. Everything they have is fantastic.

I think it’s wonderful you just discovered Google Reader. I’ve been using it for about a year now– if I realized you never knew about it before I would have told you, I promise. It’s my favorite tool that is available online these days. I have a ton of blogs added to it, including yours!
I wanted to ask your opinion about something on my website. I was wondering if maybe I should move my articles that are about saving money onto the page that is about me and remove the “et cetera” subpage since those articles are the only things there. My wonderment comes from the fact that the articles are not about me, they are just by me. And I was wondering if you thought I should move them or leave them, because your opinion means a lot to me.
@Reply - Thanks… I absolutely love it. It keeps my coffee warm, but it doesn’t make the mug hot. I’m gonna have to check out their site and see if I can’t find more stuff to get. It’s great.
Ya Google reader is such a time saver, and great memory for me. I know you would have let me in on the secret if you knew!! It’s slowly becoming a favorite of mine as well. I’ve got your blog added too!! *LOVES*
I went to your site, and I think you should keep them where they are, but instead of having them labeled et cetera change it to Articles. That’s what they are. It would make more sense. I think people would be quicker to look at them knowing what’s in store instead of having to guess.
Yeah, unfortunately having a purse is a must. I keep so much stuff in my purse that it would be impossible to fit it all in my pockets. But the good thing is that bags can be a great fashion accessory!
@Reply - I hate it too… I used to enjoy not having to carry one around. I’ve officially run out of pockets. Right now I own one… but at the rate things are going I’ll probably have more soon! You going to help me properly accessorize?

That sounds fun! I’m glad you had fun with your mom! And yes, purses are (alas) a must.
@Reply - It was great… something to do different. It seems like every week it’s work and back. It does get old after awhile.
*DAMN YOU PURSES!*
Your mom is so sweet! I’ve never had a close relationship with my mother but it’s been getting better over the years.. probably because I’m not a rebellious teen anymore!
@Reply - Ya I’m lucky… I absolutely love my mom. We had quite a few rough years when I was a teen, but I grew out of it. It took awhile but I learned that my mom does know what she’s talking about.

Your mom sounds so sweet! It’s so cute that you have such a wonderful relationship with your mom. I find that too many people grow up and grow “away” from their moms. I think it’s great that you still spend time with her
I love the idea of a bridesmaid’s purse!
@Reply - She is an absolute doll! I love her to death. We didn’t have a relationship at all for years (lots of personal issues), but I’m grateful to have one with her now. I don’t know what I’d do with out her!
My mom always finds the neatest stuff. She’s a total bargain shopper.

Aww, your Mom sounds awesome! It’s really great that you have an amazing relationship with your Mom. I hope I can have the same with mine!
Ooh, a new purse! Yes, it’s apparently a necessity. Though, I do have to admit that I don’t really like carrying purses around, lol.
I love shopping too! It’s a really good way to get away from all the stress!
@Reply - Ya she really is awesome. I think most mom’s are, it just takes children longer to realize that. I’m sure one day you will, but you do have to work on it, it doesn’t always come naturally.
Ya I really hate having to carry a purse, but I bet after awhile I’ll love it. Shopping.. UGH, I hate shopping.

Your mother sounds great, really sweet. My mother and I are really close. She’s always giving me things and I like shopping with her, but I don’t always like her taste in clothes.
On another note, I seem to be banned from your site. I can only access it through a proxy.
@Reply - Ya she’s pretty rocking. Glad that you have a good relationship with yours too. My mom’s in her 60’s so her taste in clothes are just so off. She’s pretty good at picking simple stuff out though.
Not sure why you would be banned, I don’t have anyone set up to be banned. You’re the 2nd person that’s told me they can only get to my site through a proxy. I’ll have to get with my host. Oh look he’s standing right there!

I think that’s so wonderful you have that kind of relationship with your mom. Sounds like you had a really nice day of shopping.
@Reply - We did… I slept part of it because I’m working weird hours, but I enjoy her company. She even made me grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast at like 5 am.

Aww, your mother sounds like a darling! I think it’s wonderful that you two are so close. I’m extremely close to my mother as well, and I think she’s the one person in the whole world who knows and understands me the best. She really gets me and my personality. She gets my problems. It’s so nice to have someone like that who’s known you your entire life.
The things you got looks and sounds lovely
@Reply - She is absolutely awesome. I can always count on her, for pretty much anything. There were times my mother and I didn’t understand each other, but I think it’s because I needed to grow up, and she needed to realize I was going to do things my way regardless.

Its really awesome that you and your mom have a great relationship. I used to kind of rebell as a teenager but now I’m seeing my mom more and more of as a friend and suddenly she seems much more smarter than a couple of years ago. I guess it happens some when we tend to grow and can form better connections.
@Reply - I consider myself lucky. We had some difficult times, I’m just glad that we were able to get past them. I remind my mom all the time that everything she used to say to me sunk in, it just took me a few years to realize it.
Sounds like you had a great time! I honestly wished that my mom and I was like that. But my parents are busy most of the time so I really envy you.
@Reply - I did have a great time. I usually do when I’m with her. Maybe after awhile your parents won’t be so busy and you’ll be able to have that kind of friendship. It does take work on both sides.
Your new layout is beautiful!
@Reply - Thanks!!! I love it too!! Free themes rock!
