Happy Halloween

Posted on Friday, October 31, 2008

Just wanted to wish all the visitors out there that celebrate a Happy Halloween. Please be safe, and if you’re going to a party and drinking.. remember… Drink Responsibly! (Don’t I sound like a commercial). For those of you that aren’t celebrating, well use today as an excuse to gorge yourself on candy and chocolates!

I’ll be at work all night so I’ll be missing all the festivities. I dressed up for Halloween (which entails me wearing nice clothes and make up). So far everyone’s been shocked. I’ll have pictures later! Time to go back to the grind.

Silver Lining

The past few months have been a bit dreary for me lately, but today at work things started looking up. It was a bit of a roller coaster ride, but in the end I’m pretty happy. So let me paint the picture for you.

I had just stepped outside for my first break of the of the day, and had a chance to relax when the manager of our company sticks his head outside and said he needs to speak to me. Well normally when he wants to speak to any of us, it’s rare that it’s good news.

So I put out my cigarette, and walked back inside. When I stepped into his office he was there with our Director of IT (who host’s my website), and I’m thinking “SHIT! What did I do now? Did I say something on my website that I shouldn’t have?” I ask him if he wants me to leave the door open, and he asks me to shut it and sit down.

By now I’m internally freaking and worried that I’m going to get fired or they have some other bad news. My boss opens up by saying, “We’ve got a dilemma.” Now I’m thinking crap one of our telco’s1 wants me fired, and they are trying to find a way around it. The Director of IT says, “That’s right, and we think you are the right person to help us out.”

Money Problems

Posted on Friday, October 24, 2008

I hate money… it always gunks up the works. I know it’s impossible to live with out (well at least for me it is) but sometimes I wish I could be a hermit. Wednesday Jimbo went to get some money out of the bank and it gave him some weird error but he was able to pull the money out.. and then it tells him we’re negative 90 something dollars. So he goes into the bank and they tell him it’s in a pending status and they can give us more information on Thursday.

So Thursday we find out its some kind of charge from Amazon.com, which is weird so I call the bank to dispute it and I find out that now i’m negative 170 something dollars. The bank said that they will investigate it, and if they find in my favor I get everything back, but it can take up to 45 days for this to happen.

I call my work to see if I can get the direct deposit stopped so I don’t lose even more money and I found out that the submit it on Wednesday (but it doesn’t actually post until like 4:30 am on Friday). I’m so pissed off right now, this is not the first time my bank has pulled some crap so I’m looking to get another one.

Now I’m gonna be short on several bills cause I’m out a couple hundred dollars. Blargh I just needed to bitch! Jimbo went out of town this weekend so I’m having to catch rides to and from work (we only have one car), which is okay but I’m having to cut back on hours because nobody works my specific schedule. At least I only live like 5 miles from work so it’s not out of the way for anyone.

So cute I had to share

My shift supervisor at work is a fountain of one liners, quips, and just funny jokes. He says his inspiration comes from cracker jack boxes (although I think he just has too much time on his hands.) He sent me one just now that I had to share.

There were two nuns…

One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM), and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL).

It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.

SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.

SL: It’s logical. He wants to rape us.

SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most? What can we do?

SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.

SM: It’s not working.

SL: Of course it’s not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.

SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.

SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I’ll go this way. He cannot follow us both.

So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.

Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.

Then Sister Logical arrives.

SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened!

SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn’t follow us both, so he followed me.

SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?

SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.

SM: And?

SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me.

SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.

SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM: Oh, no! What happened then?

SL: Isn’t it logical, Sister?

A nun with her dress up can run faster than man with his pants down.

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty, say two Hail Marys!

Procrastination At It’s Best

Do you ever find that you make meaningless updates and tweaks to your website to avoid the fact that you aren’t actually doing anything. It gives me the illusion of updating, and even though I’m not adding content, I’m blogging useless information, and downloading and installing plug ins that the visitors may or may not even notice.

Last weekend I spent 12 hours combing the Wordpress Plug in directory, downloading, installing, and testing. Most of them were back end plugins and little affect on the user end of the domain. It was extremely productive to me, but in reality nobody cares.

I can sit here and say I’m working on content, researching, tweaking, streamlining, but really do you believe me? Or do you think that I’m just sitting here wasting my time not doing anything?

So Lazy

Well I figured nobody really cares about all the details of the concert… so let’s just say that I had a freaking blast the entire time. I decided that I was really to lazy to type everything up anyways, and by the time I get the motivation to do that it’ll be a long forgotten moment.

So I’ve been spending my day downloading plugins, testing, and just having a good time. I’ve added a plugins used page so feel free to check it out.

I’ve been meaning to add more content, but I just haven’t had the motivation to do so. I’ve been doing research for different articles, I’m just having a hard time getting it all collected. Since the only time I can update is at work, I have extremely limited time to do this in.

I’m probably going to continue being lazy and mess around with downloading and testing plugins. I’m off work tomorrow for a dress fitting. One of my older sisters is getting married so tomorrow is when we go check out bridesmaid dresses. I might be able to work more on the site then, not entirely sure.

Time Flies

I can’t believe it’s October already. It seems like this year is flying by. This year so far has been an interesting one. For the domain and for my personal life. Right now not much is going on. Jimbo and I got a puppy, His name is Revolver Ocelot. I’ll have pictures and more about him later on down the road.

I’m still working 60 hours a week, which is getting old pretty quick. Hopefully I won’t have to do that for much longer. Jimbo is putting in applications every where. I’m sure he’ll hear something back soon.

The only other news is the Hanson concert coming up this Tuesday! I’m so freaking excited I can’t wait. This is the first time they have come to Alabama, so my friend and I are super stoked. This is the second time I’ve seen them in concert in the 11 years I’ve been a fan. So I have a question for you visitors.

Question: What is your favorite band, and have you seen them in concert? If you haven’t seen your favorite band in concert what’s the best one you’ve gone to. If you’ve never been to a concert who would you LOVE to see?
