Finally
by Webmaster Vern
Well now that the storm has passed, and I’m able to breathe a sigh of relief I can get everyone up to speed on the past week or so. As I said the first 3 nights in our new apartment we didn’t have power, so we pretty much did everything by candle light. Last Monday power and water was scheduled to be turned. So around 8 in the morning I was woken up by the sound of rushing water. We hadn’t noticed that all the faucets were set in the on position. Power was turned on later that day.
So this past week has just been a mixture of work, and packing/moving. Thursday night we got the last of our stuff out of the old apartment, and turned our keys in on Friday. So as that went pretty well.
We’ve had a few minor issues with some kids running around the neighborhood, and also with some of our neighbors, but other than that things seem to be moving smoothly.
I still haven’t been able to get Internet, and I’m waiting to hear from my local ISP as to why I can’t get anything but regular cable TV. I think in the end the lines are going to have to be redone. I’ll pay for part of it if I have to, because I need the Internet for work. I won’t be able to get promoted if I can’t get access, and I’ll be pissed if I have to wait another year for the position I’ve been going after for quite some time.
Right now the new place is a wreck. Everything is pretty much all over the place. Kitchen stuff in the spare bedroom, laundry in the living room… it’s utter chaos. It’s so nice though, we have our own front porch, we have on own driveway, so we don’t have to worry about parking anymore.
It’s not exactly the nicest area, but we’re only 10 minutes from work now. We’re closer to alot of stores, and the Interstate is like 2 miles away.
Well it’s getting busy here at work. I really don’t know how much I’ll be able to update since I don’t have active internet at home, but I’m not letting this domain die anytime soon. Renewal time is in August and I plan on doing just that.

It’s nice to hear than your transition has been good. I recently moved as well from a two bedroom apt with my husband to my mother’s house. It’s not as bad as it sounds– we’re having a house built for us and we needed somewhere to live while it is being built. We should be able to move in by September though, which is fantastic. It’s nice to read the blog of someone close to me in age who is in somewhat of the same place in life as I am.
Yay for moving, I love moving, I don’t know why but I think there is something awesome and invigorating about the whole idea of a ‘fresh start’ in somewhere new. Sounds like you’ve had a rocky start so far but everything will gradually pick up. I’ve been in my apartment for over a year and I still have my spare room filled with unpacked boxes haha, good luck with getting your internet etc all up and running. Hopefully it’ll be smooth sailing here on in
I hope you’re able to get internet hon
